Location

Only 330 km northeast of Stavanger, 260 km northwest of Oslo and 220 km east of Bergen, Haugastøl Turistsenter is located in the heart of the southern part of Norway.

Most of our guests arrive at Haugastøl either by train or by car. The train stops several times a day at Haugastøl Railway Station, which only lays about a 20 min walk away from the centre. It is also possible to catch a train to Ustaoset Railway Station. Ustaoset is located 12 km away from Haugastøl. If you contact us, a pick up/drop off from the station can be organized. For more information about the train schedules and tickets, please look up the Norwegian State Railways.

However, if you are arriving at Haugastøl for snowkiting , we advise you to rent your own car to reach all the spots.

For guests arriving by plane to either Oslo Gardermoen, Sandefjord Torp or Bergen Flesland, or by boat to Haugesund, Stavanger or Bergen it is possible to arrive here by train.

If you choose to arrive by air to Haugastøl we have landing areas for helicopters close to the hotel. Helicopters can be chartered from Gardermoen, Torp, Rygge and Bergen airport. If you need more information please dont hesitate to contact usl.

For guests arriving here by car during the winter season, especially if you are driving from the west, we ask you to take special care, and to keep in mind that Haugastøl is located on the highest mountain plateau in Europe. The weather at this level can change quite quickly, and sometimes lead to temporarily closings of the road or formation of colonnes. Please check the road conditions before your departure to make sure the road is open.

Please take this in consideration, and make sure your car is equipped for driving along Norwegian winter roads and make use of wintertyres/snowchains.
