In Norway the right to fish in different lakes is regulated, and you have to buy the right to fish through the Hunting- and Fishing Organisations.  

Haugastøl Turistsenter holds the right to sell fishing rights on behalf of Geilol Hunting- and Fishing Organisation. We are entitled to sell the right to fish in 14 different lakes in addition to the river leading from Karistølsneset and down to the border to Hordanland Fylke.

Fishing is only allowed in the period between 1/5 - 30/9.  Icefishing is ONLY allowed on the Lakes of Ustevatn, Sløtfjord, Nygårdsvatn and Bersmulvatn.
